March Adams is staffed with professional engineers with a manufacturing background who specialize in the support of industrial facilities. Services can include the design of the entire structure and surrounding property, electrical systems, and utilities for all processing equipment.  Large central systems for heating and cooling, compressed air, and waste handling systems have been designed for multiple clients.

We are often called upon to troubleshoot and modify specific systems or pieces of equipment, and are ready to design around the constraints imposed by ongoing production. The upgrading of aging chilled water and boiler systems is a specialty. For more than 35 years, March Adams has supported facility design, machine/equipment modifications, and system troubleshooting and process improvements for the textile, automotive, specialty chemical, and multiple other industries across the country.

Shaw T-1

Adairsville, GA

For this 500,000 square foot building expansion, the March Adams design team started by using the most up to date BIM software to take a 2-D AutoCAD plan and convert it into a 3-D Revit BIM Model. The design included recreating existing building systems and structures in order to coordinate with existing conditions. As a result, we were able to provide higher quality and more personalized service. This project consisted of adding a chilled water rooftop unit in order to properly cool an industrial server room. A heat load analysis of the server room was performed and a server room setpoint temperature set in order to properly determine the required cooling load of the unit. The unit was then connected into the manufacturer’s existing chilled water system and provisions made for future expansions.

Chattem – A Sun Pharma Company

Chattanooga, TN

March Adams has provided engineering services to Chattanooga’s Chattem Chemicals for more than two decades.  Miscellaneous areas of work include the installation of emergency generators, rework and additions of lab areas, addition of bulk storage buildings, modifications for packaging line additions, and developing system process flow diagrams.  The featured project seen here is an 84,000 square foot, two story addition at the Plant 2 facility.  March Adams provided all engineering design services for this project, meeting all regulatory requirements for the new addition.  This addition aided in the expansion of Chattem’s process and packaging systems in new markets.

Mohawk

Dalton, GA

March Adams has provided mechanical engineering design services for Mohawk Industries, Inc. and has developed a long-term professional relationship that has lasted for more than three decades. Projects have included an 800-ton chiller that supports the complete manufacturing facility in Dalton, Georgia, and a six-phase expansion and construction of a PET recycling and carpet manufacturing facility in Summerville, Georgia.
